March 5-6th....heading to Ethiopia!!!!!!

It's Monday morning....where or how do I begin this week?! I've had the question asked several times these past few days..." I bet it feels so good to be home?" In many ways, absolutely!!! In several other ways...not at all! You see, Ethiopia feels like a second home. Our daughter is there. Our boys' birth families are there. Our hearts are there & our physical beings are here....far, far away from people & the place we love. Today, I will start our trip recap!! I'll start with our travel to get there!!

Monday, March 5th at 11:30 am we left Bismarck....Kate was seriously beside herself in excitement, Grant was a bit nervous & sad leaving his brothers behind. Their moods quickly turned. Kate really didn't like the plane ride...she said it was too noisy, but she was so excited to get to Ethiopia!! Grant started off pretty nervous & by the time we were in Mpls, you would've thought he had traveled the world 100x over!! He loved every minute of it!! Our flight took us from Bismarck to Mpls, to Amsterdam to Sudan for a passenger stop & on Tuesday night at 9:30 pm we arrived in Ethiopia! We were all so excited to step foot off the plane...we were greeted by our hotel driver, Fasika & the wonderful smells & sights of Ethiopia! Once we checked in to our hotel....The Addis View Hotel (which I'd highly recommend!) we unpacked our things, skyped with the boys & tried to sleep!! We woke up at about 3 am ready to go!!! The time we waited took forever it seemed...we could hardly contain ourselves...9:00 am couldn't come fast enough!! We were off to meet Ariyat!!!

                                                      our tender hearted boy:)
Waiting to take off from home!

                                                                   Amsterdam.

                                                             our gate in Amsterdam!

                                                                     tired kids!!!

stay tuned for "the morning we met our girl!!"
