{Ethiopia. Wednesday, May 15th. 2013.}

A busy, exciting, eventful day was awaiting us on Wednesday!!! This was our busiest day with the children, as we had crafts, bible stories, games, sponsor gifts to be made & handing out 150 gifts to each of the 150 children at Jemo!! Chantalle & I were in charge of the craft station!! Chantalle had found really cute drawstring backpacks & fabric markers were used to color on them! The children seemed thrilled to color & enjoyed showing us their creations when they were done!! It was so fun watching them visit with each other & come up with different & unique designs!! After about 15-20 minutes in each station, they would go on to the next with a translator & a couple of leaders from our team! They all seemed to thoroughly enjoy each station!! The last station we did for the day was handing out the 150 gifts to the children!! What an overwhelming, exciting time. They( for the most part!) sat very patiently waiting for their turn to come! Each child received a blanket, toothbrush, toothpaste, bar of soap & either a headband for the girls or a matchbox car for the boys! Once all gifts were given, Fikre stood up front and demonstrated how to use a toothbrush & toothpaste! The looks on the kids' faces was priceless!! Many were quietly giggling with their hands covering their little mouths, most were just sitting very quietly watching very carefully as to what he was doing! I'm sure most kids went home that day & tried it out!!
